Motorcycle World Tour, Episode 31 - Patagonia
on 2019-04-21
Alone Basti took a lot of time to extensively explore Southamericas most southern part.
From Santiago de Chile he went straight south through unique volcanic landscapes in the national park Conguillío to Puerto Mmontt where the Carretera Austral begins. Because he had to wait for two days for the ferry he went for a side trip to the Volcano Chaitén and for a canoe tour to a big colony of sea lions.
In the national park Queulat Basti hiked up to the hanging glacier Ventisquero Colgante and in the dazzling turquoise waters of Lago Gral Carrera he took a boat from Puerto Sánchez to the unique Santuario de la naturaleza Capilla de Mármol, aka Catedral de Mármol.
Shortly before Cochrane he took the southernmost border to Argentina.
First stop in Argentina was the world heritage Cueva de las Manos with its impressive up to 9000 years old cave paintings. Afterwards his journey followed the Ruta Nacional 40 further south to El Chaltén at the foot of the iconic Fitz Roy. Blessed with dream weather it was of course a must to go for a long hike up to the Laguna de los Tres .
Only a day ride further was the next highlight of Argentina: the truly gigantic Perito Moreno Glacier.
Back in South Chile Basi rode till the Fin the Camino, the southern end of the road on American mainland. Next was a visit to the penguin paradise Isla Magdalena where you can admire up close countless Magellan Penguins breeding.
In the hiking paradise Torres del Paine he wandered to the beautiful Gray Glacier and paddled in the Lago Gray between sheets of ice. With his different rock colors you just can't stop looking at the one-of-a-kind summits of Torres del Paine.
At this point a big thank you to the owner of the ZALTAXAR Hostel in Puerto Natales. Without his big backpack I wouldn't have been able to do this two day hike.
Finally Basti reached the desired Tierra del Fuego und visited the bigger Kingpenguins at the Parque Pingüino Rey. After Ushuaia he got himself the obligatory stamp at the southernmost post office in the national park Tierra del Fuego and rode along a small and beautiful coastal route to the truly most southern point reachable by bike.
There he had to turn around and go back north...

Motorcycle World Tour, Episode 30 - Argentina, Brazil and Home
on 2018-07-06
While Basti's journey was still going on, Fabi and Denis were on their way back home but Chile, Argentina and Brazil still had some nice spots to offer.
In Argentina we visited Perito Moreno, one of the last still growing glaciers in the world. The south itself was pretty flat and windy but as we approached Cordoba, Rally Dakar was already around the corner. Thanks to a friend we met back on Mongolia over a year ago we were allowed to see the Bivouac and meet some of the riders.
The journey continued to the famous Iguazú waterfalls at the border to Paraguay and Brazil. Although we already saw many waterfalls it was still breath taking.
For one last time we prepared our bikes to be shipped in a plane to Europe which gave us some time to explore Rio de Janeiro. We enjoyed ourselves on the beach of Copacabana and payed Jesus the redeemer a visit.
Our original plan to ride from Lisbon to Munich got adjusted due to complications. We arrived in Munich after 22 months on the road, overly happy being back well and with many new experiences.
Thanks to all of you for your support and we hope you had fun with us on our journey!

Motorcycle World Tour, Episode 29 - Bolivia and Chile
on 2018-02-09
The Adventure continues! In this Episode we show you the diverse and beautiful landscapes of Bolivia and Chile.
Starting out at the Sajama National Park with its hot springs near some incredible volcanoes. Not only was the scenery breathtaking but the gravel roads were tons of fun to ride on. A most see for us was also the infamous Death Road between La Paz and Caranavi. Today this road is a tourist attracting but back in the day it was quite the opposite leading to many fatal crashes.
One of the highlights of our entire journey was the Salar de Uyuni. The feeling you get when riding on these dried out salt crystal is nothing short of magnificent. One has to appreciate this natural for what it is, a true marvel in South America. Another beautiful spot was on the way from Bolivia towards Chile - the Laguna Colorada - with its red lake and gorgeous pink flamingos it is another stunning sight in Bolivia.
Our footage of Chile is short because due to rain and lots of ferry rides we were not able to show you more of the beautiful South.

Motorcycle World Tour, Episode 26 - Central America
on 2017-10-30
Our adventure through central America took us at first through Belize. Here we were able to learn more about fishing and the local way to thatch a roof. After Belize our journey took us through Guatemala and the famous Mayan city of Tikal with its lively wildlife.
We went volcano boarding on the active Cerro Negro in Nicaragua which was thanks to the wet surface and the resulting high speeds quite the adrenaline rush. And we once more tried our luck surfing on the beaches near San Juan del Sur.
We had been traveling through quite a lot of rain and in Costa Rica we even had to wait a couple of days for the roads to be cleared of debris and mud slides. In the end we did make it successfully to Panama.

Motorcycle World Tour, Episode 25 - Mexico
on 2017-10-03
More adventure awaits us three south of the United States. After 6 months all around the US and Canada we were looking forward to something new.
Starting out with the Baja California we quickly realized that our adventure continues! We were surprised how quickly the landscape changed around us. From dunes and Cacti to vast green mountains in central Mexico.
We were extremely pleased by the ever changing scenery and landscape. As well as by the kindness of the local people.
Swimming in the grottoes of Tolantongo was an experience we will never forget. The crystal turquoise water was stunning in itself but the naturally warm temperature made it surely to an absolute highlight.
After that we further explored old Mayan ruins in Teotihuacan and Palenque. We relaxed a bit near Cancun and got the chance to swim with whale sharks off the coast of the Isla Mujeres. Close to the small town Rio Lagartos we could also watch huge flocks of flamingos.

Motorcycle World Tour, Episode 24 - Sand dunes, San Francisco and the Redwoods
on 2017-09-19
As promised we deliver more footage of our adventures in the fabulous sand dunes of Oregon. Our bikes handled themselves better than we had ever anticipated. Despite the weight and size! We bow our heads before these machines and the great Heidenau K60 Scouts that gave us the traction we needed.
Further we headed south through San Francisco with its many sights. At the infamous Golden Gate bridge we were fortunate enough to witness a group of whales swim by. This surely being the highlight we still enjoyed, pier 39 with the sea lions, the Painted Ladys and Lombard street.
We also were stunned by the size of the Redwood trees and could not resist the urge to visit Zion, the Grand Canyon once more. Horseshoe bend was also just as unfathomable as in the pictures.
